Parking brake engaged OR brake fluid low OR serious brake issue.
What to do: Release parking brake. If light stays on, STOP DRIVING.
Airbag system malfunction. Airbags may not deploy in a crash.
What to do: Get inspected soon. Don't ignore.
Fuel tank low (typically 1-2 gallons remaining).
What to do: Fill up soon. Don't run on empty.
General maintenance needed. Oil change, tire rotation, etc.
What to do: Schedule service. Can usually drive normally.
Anti-lock Braking System disabled. Standard brakes still work.
What to do: Drive carefully. Get checked before heavy braking situations.
One or more tires low on pressure.
What to do: Check tire pressures. Inflate to door jamb sticker specs.
Transmission issue detected.
What to do: Pull over safely. Avoid towing if possible. Get to mechanic.
A door, trunk, or hood is not fully closed.
What to do: Check all doors and trunk. Close properly.
Driver or passenger seatbelt not fastened.
What to do: Buckle up. It's the law and saves lives.
Anti-theft system issue or key not recognized.
What to do: Try different key. Consult dealer if problem persists.
Left or right turn signal activated.
What to do: Normal operation. Check if blinking fast (bulb out).
Parking sensors active. Object detected nearby.
What to do: Normal operation. Slow down and check surroundings.
Wipers are currently in use.
What to do: Normal operation.
High beam headlights are on.
What to do: Dim lights when oncoming traffic. Check local laws.
Cruise control is set and active.
What to do: Normal operation. Press cancel to disengage.
